Essex Rural Policing Team

2020-2021

I had the opportunity to shadow the work of Essex Police’s Rural Crime team during the spring and summer of 2020 and 2021. As I grew up in a rural environment I had a rough idea of the crimes they might tackle, but working alongside them and documenting their day-to-day activities opened my eyes to the spectrum of crime they cover. The team works to help and protect individuals, business’and wildlife across Essex.

As I followed them, I enjoyed learning and documenting their daily interactions with those that they work with in rural communities, such as farmers and the traveling community. Documenting these interactions enabled me to gain personal insight into the safety and security that this team works hard to create within Essex.
